Based on the the kunqu opera Longing for Worldly Pleasures (Sifan), in the original aria the young nun breaks free from her life in the monastery.

THE DRAGON & THE TIGER 龍爭虎鬥

Opening with an ancient melody from the guqin song “Lament For Antiquity” (Kaiguyin), this song develops into a kung fu aesthetics that features the pipa and cello to express the historical Chinese four-character idiom: “The dragon & the tiger will always fight.” In the style of cinematic kung fu influenced by fengshui, the pipa represents the dragon (the East), and the cello represent the tiger (the West).
